🚶♂️➡️ 🚣♂️ Mark 6:48 — “He saw the disciples straining at the oars… Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. >>>He was about to pass by them<<<.”🚣♂️ 🚶➡️
I read that and had to laugh for a second.
The disciples are out in the middle of the lake, exhausted, fighting the wind, probably thinking they’re in real trouble…
And Jesus comes walking on the water toward them.
But then… “He was about to pass them by” What? Like dudes were about to be sent to the shadow realm and Jesus was on a stroll.
Like… imagine you’re out there struggling for your life, and Jesus just strolls by like He’s out for a morning walk 😄
Of course, He doesn’t actually leave them. They freak out, think He’s a ghost, and then He immediately says, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid,” and gets in the boat.
I just love that moment because it feels so real. They’re panicking, and Jesus shows up in the most unexpected way possible… calm, in control, and honestly kind of funny from their perspective.
Sometimes God shows up in ways we don’t expect at all.
