Isaiah 42:3 says, “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.” In those words, we see the heart of Jesus. A bruised reed is bent and fragile, and a smoldering wick is barely hanging on, giving more smoke than flame. Yet Jesus does not treat weakness with harshness. He does not crush the broken, and He does not turn away from those who feel worn down, discouraged, or spiritually faint. Instead, He comes with gentleness, meeting hurting people with mercy and care. What seems broke to others is not beyond His reach. He restores, strengthens, and tends to the weak with tenderness, reminding us that even in our lowest moments, we are so loved and not forgotten by Him.
